310119 Wooden box with arched sides (for jewelry or make-up accessories), lined inside and out with gilt embossed bands and colored papers (pink inside, outside green with a decor of gilt leaves). The lid is adorned with a reverse glass picture; a mirror is mounted on its underside. Small wooden ball feet. Hand-colored lithography. 190 (length) x 137 (width) x 70 mm (height). Circa 1840.
The picture on the lid shows a young woman at her dressing table. She speaks with another one who is holding her nightdress upon her arm and still wearing her night hood. Quite unusual box in good condition.
