310381 COLORED PAPERS Brocade or Augsburg paper. Trimmed sheet as the cover of a booklet. Acanthus leaves ending in cornucopias filled with flowers and vegetables; in the middle a basket, also garnished with flowers, cabbage, radish etc., between 2 serpents.
Our sheet is the cover of: Il Secolo Vendicato. Dramma Musicale Da Cantarsi Nel Pubblico Teatro Di Rimino [...] Offerto [...] Alla Reale Altezza Di Maria Antonia Valburga Di Baviera, Vedova Elettrice Di Sassonia Ec. In Cesena, Per Gregorio Biasini All‘ Insegna Di Pallade, 1773. 20 p. of text with 3 woodcut vignettes & 1 copper-engraved frontispiece (joined coats of arms of Saxony & Bavaria). Stitched. Printed in gold on orange background. 296x398 mm. Backs: Plain. Circa 1770.

Maria Antonia Valburga (Walpurga, 1724-1780) is the daughter of the Bavarian Elector Karl Albrecht (Charles Albert, rules 1726-1745) & the wife of the Elector of Saxony Friedrich Christian (1722-1763), who reigned just a couple of months in 1763.
Minimal rubbing & tiny tear at the back, otherwise very fresh.
