Box "Le Gommeux"
"Am I beautiful?" You bet! Far too beautiful to be put in a folder with others as a trading card. "Le Gommeux" - or fop, dandy, vain fop - demands special treatment, which is why he now adorns this little handmade box. After all, he is already about 120 years old. And now his "second life" begins. So the box should contain gold chains, brilliants or whatever else is needed for a glamorous appearance.
The sturdy box, covered with bookbinding linen and Carta Varese paper by Cartapura, is 9.5 cm wide, 9.5 cm deep and 5 cm high.
Each of these objects from Cornelia Kurtz's workshop is unique. Rummaged up by Cartobook in forgotten boxes and drawers, the individual paper antiques now enter the public domain and seem as fresh now as they did when they were made and distributed with care. And already their "second life" begins. Right here!
